One new COVID-19 case detected in Mongolian national arrived from Russia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On April 16, today, D.Nyamkhuu, Director of National Center of Communicable Diseases (NCCD) announced one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in Mongolia, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 31, at daily press briefing of the Ministry of Health.

The patient is a Mongolian national, who was staying at Amar Hotel in Ulaanbaatar city under mandatory isolation after arriving from Russia on April 11 and was tested positive as a result of repeated testing for coronavirus. 
 
A total of 282 people entered Mongolia on April 11, and 20 of them, who were demonstrating suspicious symptoms, were taken to the NCCD and others were put under isolation in various isolation places around Ulaanbaatar and Selenge and Darkhan-Uul aimags. 

5 out of total 31 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have already recovered and were found to have antibodies in their blood. 

The remaining 26 patients are currently being treated at the NCCD, where 245 people are staying under medical supervision. Nationwide, there are presently 1669 people are placed in 21-day mandatory isolation, most of them are people who had returned from abroad.  

There have been more than 5,000 tests for coronavirus conducted in Mongolia until today and no locally transmitted COVID-19 case was found. 

As the SEC was planning to bring 50 Mongolian nationals this week from Inner Mongolia, China, it was reported at the press briefing that the repatriation is postponed for indefinite period of time.
